A new journal has been started up to focus on cognitive science of religion. The name, not surprisingly, is Journal for the Cognitive Science of Religion. It’ll be the official journal of the IACSR so a subscription will be included with membership (which will mean that the membership fees are bound to rise). At this point no issues have been published but it ought to be a useful focal point for the research in the area. I’ll have to think about submitting something sooner or later.

We just got something into Religion, Brain & Behaviour! How are these two journals meant to divide up, or are they just flat-out competitors?

Talked about your work with Justin Lane just a couple of days ago. Yours question is a good one and it has been asked by a number of people. One difference is that JCSR is flat out CSR whereas this is not so clearly the case with RBB. Still, I do think that there will be a lot of overlap. The thing that a lot of people have been saying is that there is so much good work being produced that it should not be a problem filling both journals.
