Unintentional humour

2-cross1 While in the UK I spotted a poster that was meant as an earnest Christian message but which actually manages to be unintentionally quite funny. The message that Christianity is an alternative to superstition is made ambiguous by the alternative interpretation that Christianity is just an alternative superstition. It seems that the author of the poster was too earnest to notice that reading. The serious side of things is the question of what is the relationship between being religious and being superstitious, and the difficulties involved with measuring this relationship.  That, of course, is a problem I have blogged about on several occasions.
